RAFELGUARAF is a municipality in the comarca of Ribera Alta in the Valencian Community of Spain with a population of 2,403 (2016). The village’s main festivities are held annually in May & August. There are a good range of local shops; including grocery, green grocers, butchers, pharmacy, bars and even a pub disco bar close to hand. The nearest beach of Cullera is approximately 45 minutes away.
There are two main towns close by, Carcaixent (approx.15 minutes) which is steeped in history and home to the Monastery of of Santa Maria de Aguas Vivas which dates back to the 13th Century. Carcaixent is also well known as the ‘birthplace of the orange’. This town celebrates its main festivities in October. The beautiful cosmopolitan town of Xativa (approx. 18 minutes) which is most famous for its medieval Castle and also for being the birth place of two Popes. Both towns offer everything for very comfortable living including a good selection of schools. In Xativa you will find the private British School of Xativa which follows the English Curriculum and offers places for toddlers to teenagers.
